Set Goals to Create an Incredible 2022!
Of course, the start of the new year is notorious for goal setting. It can be so easy to look ahead at the year and become overwhelmed by the numerous achievements you desire. So, what is the best approach for setting “new year’s resolutions”? Here are a few ways to make your goal planning a little less formidable and a little more inspiring this new year.
1. Reflect on what you accomplished in the past year.
Your worst critic can most often be yourself. But, what if we began the new year celebrating your accomplishments from the previous year. You’ve just taken another trip around the sun and, undoubtedly, worked on and completed a lot of incredible things. Recognizing how far you have come motivates and propels you forward to believe in yourself and continue on an upward slope towards accomplishing your future goals!
2. Decide what you value most in your life?
Humans waste their time comparing themselves to others. But, we rarely ever have the complete picture of someone’s life. Instead of focusing our goals based on what other people are doing, what if we asked ourselves what we, personally, truly value. “Your values are the things that you believe are important inthe way you live and work. They (should) determine your priorities, and, deep down, they’re probably the measures you use to tell if your life is turning out the way you want it to“. Taking time to consider what you value most in life can help you set goals about your passion.
3. Make specific and realistic plans to achieve your goals.
Once you have determined what you value most and have set goals you are excited to work towards, you need to make plans. Plans are specific and realistic steps you can take to help you reach your goals. Imagine your plans as your roadmap to success. As you follow the path of your plans, you will find it much easier to achieve the desired destination of your goals! And just like with any road trip, you probably will need to make pit stops and even potentially take a detour. Even if you feel like you need to change course (your plans) to reach your destination, be patient with yourself and keep your eye on where you want to be going.
4. Believe in yourself
You got this! No one is more capable of accomplishing your own goals than you! If you are genuinely passionate and committed to working hard, nothing can hold you back from achieving what you desire and having an incredible year!
